]]> Thu, 21 Oct 2010 21:34:14 GMT C9D9B7009EAF3EEBFC281F0946CB4FE9 http://jadefoxmusic.com/blog.cfm?feature=568610&postid=344375 Wow, my first post in 2010 and the year's halfway over.&nbsp; Time flies when you're having (fill in the blank with your own emotion).&nbsp; I think I'm writing more rhymes and songs that I ever have since my voyage into music.&nbsp; Been at a loss for word though when it comes to blogging, or maybe I'm confusing that with laziness.&nbsp; Well I officially took a break from completing my follow up to &quot;Ashes of Another Life&quot; due to life issues such as buying a new car among other things.&nbsp; I've consciously decided to wrap that shit up in September.&nbsp; Don't have a name for it yet but it should be called &quot;Forever and a day, and then some more&quot;.&nbsp; It's been a long time coming and I'm feeling the excitement slowly creeping up on me.&nbsp; I should be releasing a free mixtape for the next official album drops.&nbsp; The mixtape consists of all original beats and really came about from having finished the recording of my new album a while ago, but having a lot of producer get at me to drop something on their production.&nbsp; So it'll be more of a straight rhymes kind vibe for the mixtape versus the whole 5-8 minute loaded compositions I do for the album.&nbsp; Been given a great chance to explore lots of different styles and vibes with all the different producer's I've had the opportunity to work with.&nbsp; Lots of talented people out there and in this area.&nbsp; Nothing soothes a bored mind like creativity!&nbsp; Time to do the damn thing!

]]> Wed, 25 Feb 2009 13:38:50 GMT C53A2BD2AB1E0AA94C06C75680D234E0 http://jadefoxmusic.com/blog.cfm?feature=568610&postid=35185 Whew!&nbsp; I'm pretty tired right now.&nbsp; Just did a show in Connecticut last night and a show in D.C. tonight.&nbsp; Cannot wait to sleep and forget this world, but for some strange reason had to write a blog first.&nbsp; It's my personal mission to be more consistent with it in relation to what I do musically.&nbsp; It's always refreshing for me to do shows in other areas.&nbsp; I hate to put down Baltimore, but some of the shows I just don't enjoy being a part of, and as many of us know, those in attendance (if they aren't other artists) are there as friends of acts to support certain performers in particular, so they refuse to enjoy themselves at any other time doing the show.&nbsp; Let's see...the best way to describe that scenario just might be with the word awkward.&nbsp; Or a better phrase might be, awkward as hell.&nbsp; I'm always told people/artists tend to perceive the grass in greener on the other side. Death Cab For Cutie have launched a spoof political campaign to stop "autotune abuse" in music.

The US indie band wore blue ribbons on their jackets at last night's Grammys in a bid to raise awareness of their campaign.

Frontman Ben Gibbard said: "Autotuning is affecting literally thousands of singers today and thousands of records that are coming out.

"So we just want to raise awareness while we're here and try to bring back the blue note... The note that's not so perfectly in pitch and just gives the recording some soul and some kind of real character. It's how people really sing."

Autotune technology, which has been used by artists including Britney Spears and Kanye West, is used to correct vocal pitch and instrumental performances.


]]> Wed, 11 Feb 2009 03:00:55 GMT 46484EEECEF381DE4A2301ADBB636BAA http://jadefoxmusic.com/blog.cfm?feature=568610&postid=34409 My car stereo has been broke for a little over a month now.&nbsp; It's not completely broke, I just can't listen to anything other than FM or AM radio.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Really the big deal is the inablity to listen to my ipod while driving.&nbsp; It drives (ha,ha) me crazy to hear the same 10 to 15 songs.&nbsp; Sometimes I just listen to the spanish station because it's not the same damn thing.&nbsp; Then sometimes I get really desperate and find myself listening to a country song and not even realize it until 20 seconds later when I scream out loud, what the hell am I listening to?&nbsp; It's pretty bad when I have to hear Beyonce on four different stations all at the same time.&nbsp; And I'm not gonna go all &quot;Etta James&quot; about it, but come on, with all the music that exists in the world there is no reason why I should have to hear the same artist on four different stations all at once.&nbsp; Hell, with all the music that exists locally, I should be able to hear a variety of stuff, but that's a whole other rant in itself.&nbsp; I do have to say I'm diggin' the go-go version of Paramore's hit last year (I think it's called Misery Business).&nbsp; Glad I got to hear that all of two times on the radio in the last month.&nbsp;&nbsp; Short blog even shorter, I need a new car stereo, stat!
